NEXT SWING GEORG CONCERT
“Paul Heller, one of the central figures of the Cologne jazz scene, is the guest artist this evening. He has been a member of the WDR Big Band as a saxophonist for 20 years. As a sought-after soloist, he has worked for many years with Ack van Rooyen, Bob Brookmeyer, Al Foster, and Dusko Goykovich, among others. In an (almost) “chamber music” setting, yet full of energy, Thimo Niesterok and Paul Heller, together with the versatile and highly accomplished Rolf Marx (guitar) and Henning Gailing (double bass), take a musical journey through the repertoire of the Great American Songbook.”
